I have been working on some new paintings which are all abstract and in the past I have found that it can be tricky to come up with titles for abstract paintings. However, in this case I feel like there is a lot of emotion and mental involvement in the creation of these paintings which means that I have been able to come up with plenty of titles. In fact I have a list of more than 100 titles for abstract paintings that fit the stage that I am in with my paintings.
Having previously struggled with titles for paintings I thought it might be useful for me to share some of these ideas because they are basically words and emotions that are not exclusive to me so might be useful to other people.

As you can see from a lot of those titles, I do really like one word painting titles but you can always take a word and expand it a bit further for a different meaning.
Hopefully this just gives you a few ideas and you can come up with better titles that suit your own work. I may also add to the 100+ words for abstract paintings as more come into my mind. For me at the moment, my work is part of a big change in direction so that is what a lot of my titles allude to and the work itself tries to reflect the title in a way that maybe only I can see!
